Shipping

90% of Flashback orders have been shipped, with the first cameras already arriving. We're quickly wrapping up the remaining 10%, ensuring every order is on its way to you ASAP. I'm excited to see our cameras reach all of you in the coming days!

Tracking numbers

We've sent out tracking numbers for shipped orders! 

At first, we weren't sure how to automate this process, and sending thousands of emails manually wasn't practical. But in the last few days, once the majority of cameras were shipped, Mack was able to figure out a solution. It's not automated but the system allows us to send tracking numbers out in batches.

If you're still waiting for your tracking number, don't worry – it's on its way as we continue to dispatch more orders.

App

We're currently working through some delays with the App Store review process, but our goal is to have the app ready before the majority of cameras arrive.

Worst case scenario?

Your camera will be all set, loaded and ready to go right out of the box, and the app will be available shortly after, just in time to develop your first roll of photos.

On the Move: A Flashback Shipping Update from Your Mate Kelric

I'm thrilled to bring you a quick yet important update!

Shipping Progress

We've been working tirelessly to kick off the shipping process. It's been a busy time, handling numerous address updates and ensuring everything is in order. The most exciting news: after a considerable journey through design, manufacturing, and meticulous quality assurance, we're incredibly proud of the camera quality. Your support and patience during these stages have been phenomenal, and I can't thank you enough.

Shipping Status

I'm delighted to announce that shipping is already underway! A few of you have recently changed your address, and luckily I've managed to accommodate all of these. However, we're at a crucial point where  address changes are no longer feasible. Attempting to update your details at this stage might not be possible, especially if your order is already on its way.

Tracking Information

Many of you are eager to know about tracking numbers and shipment statuses. Rest assured, I am in constant communication with our warehouse and shipping partners to organize this. Tracking should be available for almost all shipping destinations, but we're still working out how we can get your own tracking number to you efficiently once we receive it. I appreciate your patience in not requesting individual updates, as this will enable us to focus on getting all the cameras out the door first!

Estimated Delivery Times

A common question I've received is about the likelihood of receiving the camera before Christmas. I share your eagerness and have been doing everything possible to ensure timely delivery without compromising on quality. Cameras are being shipped according to the order of purchase, with earlier orders being prioritized. However, from here on we're at the mercy of the individual mail carriers which can vary widely between countries, especially during this time of year. While I hope to get every camera to you before the holidays, I want to set realistic expectations. My best estimate is that some orders will arrive after Christmas Day. We're doing our best and I will keep you informed along the way.

Your support throughout this journey has been incredible, and I'm so excited to create a world where we can all experience life's moments more genuinely and candidly.

I'm thrilled to announce that shipping is just around the corner. However, before your cameras embark on their journey into the world, we need to ensure they reach the right destinations. We're about to lock in shipping addresses for all orders, so please read these instructions carefully.

Here's what you need to do:

• Log into your BackerKit survey.
• Verify that the address listed is where you want your camera sent. If it's correct, no action is required. If it needs updating, click on "Edit Shipping Info" to make sure it's accurate.

Production update & factory visit

Hi everyone! Just a quick update from me. If you haven't seen on our social media, I recently returned from a 3-week trip to our factory.

I felt it was important to make this trip, to verify all details of the camera production. I've always thought that communication in-person is much quicker and easier.

During the trip, I checked out the factory and places where all the camera components are made. I got to see our moulds in action, the assembly process as well as the finished product. I got a little bit of footage, and I'm going to try and convince Kelric to edit together a few videos.

I even managed to bring back some samples (in my hand luggage BTW! X-ray scanners will not harm your Flashback camera).

How are these cameras different? These cameras were produced with the exact same moulds that are being used to create your own. The fine details are complete, down to the surface finishes and the colouring.

What's happening now? Since we're happy with the cameras that have been produced so far, we are continuing to produce them in incrementally larger batches. Our factory has very strict quality control, and small tweaks to the process are normal and expected at this stage. It's important to go through this process at a steady pace and retain a high standard of product quality.

Shipping is still on track for November. We don't know the exact date since there are still some variables at play, but expect continued updates here. Thanks to our increased production capacity, most cameras will be produced and shipped over a short period. It's possible that a first smaller batch will be sent to Early Bird backers, but I can't make any promises.

Packaging: We have finalised the product packaging, which includes zero plastic. Bubblewrap has been substituted with recyclable cardboard hex wrap, and the boxes use a sturdy retro "matchbox" design. Unfortunately, zero plastic isn't a common goal for many companies, so it's not straightforward to source material like this. But by working closely with everyone involved, we've made it happen!

Bonuses: I understand the delay to our production isn't ideal. However, since there is a little bit of waiting around, I had time to adjust the size of our vegan leather camera case for a more snug fit. I'm really happy with how they turned out! 

It's still possible to add one to your order! Which brings me to one last reminder - please fill out your survey if you haven't done so. Also, update your delivery address if necessary or add any extra items. We're only waiting on a few responses, and we'll be locking these in over the next week or so. If you don't complete the survey, your camera will remain reserved but we won't be able to ship it out until you get in touch!

Anyway, back to work!
